Re: What did you do today?
So I decided to adjust the handbrake on the Matiz. It works ok, but it's a long movement.
As you can see, I've lots of space in the drive.
I may be a fat old bastard, but it it's just possible. They tell you not to reuse the split pin, I was more worried about reusing my piers.
Spent longer waiting for Windows to upgrade so I could access the hard drive when the info is on rear wheel bearing settings than the job. Written the torque settings on the garage wall.

Re: What did you do today?
My 3-wheeled plastic car ownership is at an end.
After enquiries from a load of absolute muppets and timewasters (none of whom could spell) I finally sold the Robin last night.
Got the full asking price which was a right result, and he was a nice lad who has always wanted one. He was very enthusiastic about it and is already planning to tidy up some of the bits of bodywork on it and further improve it. Had a message off him to say he got home ok and is really pleased with it.
A big chunk of the money will be used up in having the replacement body for the Hampshire delivered.

Re: What did you do today?
Not been overly happy with the shine (or lack of) on the bootlid since I got the Jaag. Also spotted a collection of small scratches on the passenger's door which weren't there before it went to the garage, but it would be wrong to blame them (or Bella- the wrong side and the front door) as it looks like something very small and sharp. I collected the various polishes from the multiple places I've hidden them (I like to keep myself guessing!) and set too.
Scratches on the door came out easily but the bootlid is fucking large and I am old and decrepit So I went and got the cordless drill (had it about 18 months and NEVER used it!) and the little pad for polishing headlights (which I also did successfully) and Autoglymed the shit out of the bootlid using as little effort as I could manage, trust me, I can manage to muster an alarmingly small amount of energy usage. The bootlid looked great and even greater after I used the High Gloss stuff my next-door neighbour gave me. All the misty dullness has gone.
Doing the headlights was really just re-doing what the previous owner (or the garage) had done and they had missed the awkward bits close to the paintwork (fair enough really) but I am made of sterner stuff and so, with Bella's lead tied around my left foot (with Bella on the other end of it natch!) I carefully completed what others had started. Boy, I am FUCKING amazing as I id a good job! Sorry, I meant to say 'I am FUCKING amazed that I did a good job'.

Re: What did you do today?
I hate using polishing stuff with a drill, I don't have the knack so keep catching the sides of the pad from the drill on stuff & ruining it.

Re: What did you do today?
I am far too lazy to try without, don't normally use the drill or the polisher thing I have (got two actually - one usable and one a fuck-off professional bastard that can cut a car to the bare metal in seconds!) but I found it dead easy, just kept it flat to the lid and it was plain sailing.

Re: What did you do today?
Riding north of Munich today we saw something very similar to this:
It was on a "21" plate, but looked new, despite all the boxy panels on all the doors, and a funnel shaped thing on the roof. Followed it for about 15 seconds, so no actual shots of it.
