The 2.4 Jag was slow, could only do 100 mph. The 3.4 was the serious one. Performance is one thing but really, any rep in a 320d is going to hand you your arse.

The other thing they got right was the styling: nothing else out of the UK looked this good, and I mean nothing. A pokey little company living on a massive overdraft, working out of a sweatshop in Coventry using secondhand machinery made cars that Mercedes and BMW wished they could have built, but couldn't. One of Britain's greatest achievements. America didn't know - or care - what Humbers, Armstrong-Siddeleys, Allards, Lea-Francises, Alvises were. Jaguar effectively put them all out of business.

Yes, they likely do this when you have a 3.0 Si.
The big question is who cares?

Me. It's all about degrees of arsehandedness. At 80, a 3.4/3.8 Jag just needs a squeeze of the pedal to be at 100 in a time that will surprise a modern. Still in overdrive as well.

The black Si might be a good car - must be on its third engine by now of driven as intended. Si's seem cheaper there than the frankly ridiculous prices asked here.

Quite nice old machine. I think I'll have to at least own one in my life. Sensibly priced things for older premium motor.

Almost tempting to buy one as a daily driver for getting into work with. Maybe a bit shabbier looking example so I don't get bad marks against future pay reviews.
