Re: What did you do today?
Dropped the van off to have the intank pump fitted. Plumbase rang yesterday to say my tickets for the races need picking up. I've decided to use the c90' it's the hottest day of the year so far. Over twenty miles each way too.
Filled the tank and got 63 miles for 2.02 litres. Sounds like decent mpg.
Currently stopped in sunny Blyth.

Sounds over 130mpg, just about affordable these days.

The 25 rattles along and here's the reason.
Modern designers perhaps don't know or care what happens when you bolt two dissimiliar metals together, but a few bits of stainless scrap now keeps them apart and peace has returned.- LynehamHerc

Passed by this place today but unfortunately it was shut. Google Maps seems to have an algorithm that sends you via the narrowest country lanes possible in order to save 15 seconds.

Its quite odd inside, various cars (old minis, yanks etc) made into tables and chairs. Not my kind of place but undoubtably one of the better experiences. Staff were very friendly, food and drink good in the American way.LynehamHerc wrote: ↑Thu Jun 16, 2022 4:08 pm Passed by this place today but unfortunately it was shut. Google seen to categorize roads as two types.LynehamHerc wrote: ↑Thu Jun 16, 2022 4:08 pm Passed by this place today but unfortunately it was shut. Google Maps seems to have an algorithm that sends you via the narrowest country lanes possible in order to save 15 seconds.
Motorway/Interstate and everything else is "road".
Mostly because roads that actually go anywhere here tend to be at least wide enough for two vehicles to pass each other, that's stuck in the heads of the people who write the code.
Had a program back in the 90's called AutoRoute, the smallest road it would route you on was a B road. That actually worked well.

Re: What did you do today?
I think the AA routing service still uses Autoroute or a development of it. I use it to plot a journey but not as a navigation tool - that is what maps are for.....I remember going to Mundesley in Norfolk once trying to minutely follow AR directions and it dropped me deep in the shit and I missed my tea. Never again!
