I'm off to fit new discs and pads to the Absence. There are wind back pistons on the rear calipers *shudders*

Filled most of the fleet up today. Might as well take advantage of fuel being cheap before this Saudi refinery issue causes it to rise. Hopefully that refinery going offline won't cause too many problems - especially as we're getting into winter and that's when the Yanks seem to use more fuel - pushing it a tad higher.

Re: What did you do today?
Bloody buzzing noise on my Fiesta !Last year I swapped the engine mounts for much stiffer Range Rover ones .. certainly, it tightened up the engine and cured the torque steer , but the bloody exhaust was then buzzing on something when driving briskly . A thorough examination this morning , revealed a really loose pivot bolt on the alternator ..No more buzzing ...

Returning to my parking space... that's not good.
It's water, so a bit of investigation required tomorrow.

And coming back on a big yellow taxi from any trip doubles the MPG too.

Re: What did you do today?
I got underneath today and can't see any sign of leaks. Plus there's still a lot of water in the rad and expansion tank. Plus the rad is in such excellent condition, it's clearly not that.
So I've filled the rad and expansion tank to the exact max lines and I'll keep an eye on it. I now suspect that somehow the undertray has filled with rainwater and it's all swished around when I moved off the kerb.
I tried to remove the filthy expansion tank as per the handbook, but this involves a captive nut so you can guess how that went.

dropped #1 son at Uni in Birmingham, picked up a load of 2nd hand bit to convert a LHD Rangie to RHD, and watched the cooling system on my daily 3.9 Range Rover purge excess pressure in the coolant 5 mins after I arrived in Devonshite. Fuck HGF then
