Modernish spacious towcar?

Post by DodgeRover »

Anybody got any suggestions please? Needs to carry 4 adults 2 biggish dogs and a bit of luggage and be able to tow about 2ton - maximum plated weight of current caravan is 1750kg.

Needs to be not ruinously expensive to run please. Have just lost faith in our Maverick now :(

Define modern. Most have different views of what modern is on here!

For what we needed it for it for, a uni shuttle, it was a fine car. Not being a sensitive flower like you I'm not really bothered about what it may or not have said about me.
It was a 2007 mk2 so didn't scream council estate poverty if that's what you're getting at.

E Class estate , the biggest estate you’ve been able to buy since the 940/60 went out of production and they’ve all got self levelling or air suspension on the back. Cheap to run because there’s loads of cheap pattern parts available . A 4 cylinder diesel is probably the best compromise , but the 5 pot and V6 diesels ( depending on age budget ) would no doubt pull like Gordon The Big Engine.
