A bloke that used to flog end-of-life W114/5/123 Mercs to Citizen Khan types around Southampton used to refer to that peculiar Band-Aid colour of Manila Beige as "Dog Dick Pink"

Usually pinstripes and random sticker like Bali or something else exotic.
I am sure I read a tale in Jalopy from a fella who claimed he worked on nightshift making Allegros and they ran out of the correct interiors so they put random ones in and called it a special edition.

Ford were kings of this back in the day though - you'd get a rev counter from the GT in some special edition without getting the GT engine etc.

Not expressions, but I back-street abortionist I knew apart from sills made of wob and newspaper with shiny rattle can finish, used to put the hubcaps and go-faster stripe on the side that was visible as it passed through the auctions.
He also had a 4-door car with terminal rot on the inner part of the door shut - he took the door card off, secured the door shut with self-tappers and then replaced the door card.

I used to mess about with bent stuff for a mate and he once asked me to help him pinstripe a freshly straightened Avenger Estate. Despite careful measuring and alignment we still used less pinstripe tape one side than on the other....That one never came back but a similarly repaired Passat did. Unfortunately via Trading Standards.....End of operation.
