Thank you. How did you get on with that job? I have an old Sykes-Pickavant set I think will do it, tested the fit on the new clutch plate.

Re: Squire's voitures
It's an easy enough job if you've got the clutch aligned ok so it all slides back in.
It's engine out rather than gearbox in Midgets, the hardest thing was getting the bonnet on & off without scratching the car.

Don't forget the two long studs! About 50p worth of stud to make your life 100000000 times easier.
The back of the engine will come down when the gearbox tail is lowered so make sure the rad hoses aren't strained. Etc etc etc.
RWD clutches are generally pretty easy. I did an E36 clutch in August on my own in 4 hours on the ground.

I have to support the engine sump with a jack and block of wood. I have disconnected most of the various controls and cables now. Just weighing up the easiest way to proceed.

Sounds awkward, especially if that prop shaft fouls the gearbox from sliding back far enough. Do you have a trolley jack to support the gearbox?

Re: Squire's voitures
Aye a trolley jack and trying to roll the box out is easiest.
I used to use two jacks to get a Land Rover boxes out.

I am painfully aware of the Reverend's threaded bar suggestion, but I wouldn't know where to start to try and find one. It's not like Phil A in America.
