Only the seven codes on the van before the neighbour distracted me.
I'm not that keen on these in depth scanners. I much prefer my cheap one. That only found one code on the van.- Scruffy Bodger

Yup. You're better off not knowing if the eml isn't on. Three of the codes for the van relate to me changing the radio ffs. Permanent too. Proper progress.
I think SiC likes the misery.

Reading the codes led to me realise that my MAF was iffy, despite the EML not on. Replacing that gained me twice amount of Boost and 10MPG extra.
The Cayman had about 20 codes set but all related to loss of module communication. I.e as the battery went flat, everything started shutting down. So not something to worry about.
As said, it's a tool. Tools need to be used appropriately.

Half a day wasted on Friday sorting out a new staircase after finding the risers were secured mainly with the shortest plasterboard screws I've ever seen..Scruffy Bodger wrote: ↑Sun Jan 08, 2023 1:41 pmYeah but then you have to cope with shitty little shards of metal stuck in your hands for the rest of the day, hateful fucking things.

Drilled out the seized bolts for the cover below the inlet manifold then fitted the stainless fitting fitting kit.
Smartens it up and loads better than the shitty plastic screws etc.

I guess it matters that the under bonnet area looks smart if you need to keep opening the bonnet to fix something else

That's a point. Makes it easier to disassemble for the 10th time that day too.
