If the seating position in a '63 Cadillac is not commandeering enough for you, you should look into Range Rovers. Or cement mixers.fried onions wrote: ↑Fri Oct 25, 2019 9:23 pm At least the manufacturer was honest enough to give it an appropriate name.

Which is why I said the late 'fifties. They began to build them higher again after they realised you can only go so low.Junkman wrote: ↑Fri Oct 25, 2019 10:49 pmIf the seating position in a '63 Cadillac is not commandeering enough for you, you should look into Range Rovers. Yep.....£1000. With the original Bristol number. That there is proper 21st century motoring. Couple of hundred will lay away B Series service parts for the rest of your natural. You will even still be able to get in and out of it with arthritis.
There's a great long bar in Rock & Roll heaven.......

For me, there is a big void with Cadulacs. The OHV 1949 Sedanette Club Coupe is a beauty, everything after that until 1959 has no appeal for me at all. Then it's 1960-68 - the '69 front end is a bit ugh.Junkman wrote: ↑Fri Oct 25, 2019 10:47 pmThose early to mid Sixties Cadillacs are just bloody stunning. That they also are among the best highway cruisers ever built, especially when updated with gas shocks and radials, is a surefire recipe for them to be at the bottom of the so called collectors market. Still, I'd rather go for that Imperial. Yes, I know. I'm weird, which is oddly regarded a virtue among Imperial aficionados. The Reverend Bluejeans wrote: ↑Fri Oct 25, 2019 5:15 pm Jesus that's stunning.
Everything about it is right.
Meanwhile, David Kelly in Chester is selling off some old Renolts.

Google Patchway Autoparts and you'll find where that Morris is. Worldofceri off AS now is a car transporter guy and he is based in Coventry - half way between Bristol and you Northern People. I used him to get the 1100 and Laguna moved. Reliable, friendly person and reasonably priced.
Which one of you is buying it?

Re: EBay Finds
Looking at the pictures and the boxes of old clothes, I bet it was owned by someone's dad/uncle/etc deceased or went into a home. Probably why it's a grand as they don't know or care how much it's worth and so went "old car, dunno... a grand?". I bet someone keen and sympathetic would get it for less if it is the case.

The very early 50s Caddies, up to '53, are nice in a caricature of contemporary America sort of way. Then it's over to Buick for the styling helm for the remainder of the decade. The Reverend Bluejeans wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2019 9:22 amFor me, there is a big void with Cadulacs. Do you by any chance have any idea what the price idea for those 15s is? I think a 15 would greatly enhance my estate while being utterly useless at the same time.
