With the current market I'd say it's a 3k motor easy enough. Father in law was offered 2900 trade in on his 11 plate low mileage quashqai he owned from nearly new. If you can get it for sub grand then it's a winner to flip.

Definitely on the side of buy it and then flip it for more. Depending on how much they wanted for it you could easily double or triple your money.

Would also be interested in seeing some pics too. The head gasket on my 75 has gone and I've been semi keeping an eye out for something cheap to use for a few weeks (it's as good an excuse as any.)

I like Insignias but they're far too dear for what they are just now.

I would also suggest that the Insignia will shit 6th gear before the 75 pops it's HG. Were oil pickups still an issue on 11 plates?

As such, I'd agree with the rest, either flip it, or offer to sell on.

The 75 if looked after will be a far more rewarding car to own. Plus the ULEZ issue makes it a no brainer.

Also, well done on not having frozen door mechanisms on the 75 this weather, mine have been a pain.

I'll be having a chat to the warehouse manager tomorrow. He wasn't at the warehouse yesterday or today. He goes out around the sites checking what they need or what they want to send back. At the end of the day, it's their car, so if they agree to me selling it for them, I can start the ball rolling.
I've got a good reputation within the company and don't want to do anything underhand to spoil that. I'll take my camera tomorrow though.

1.8 with the head gasket already done is the one to have.
I personally wouldn’t touch a KV6. My dad had one and while it needed a few bits and pieces in the engine bay during the time he had it, it’s too tightly packed in to work on comfortably. Old Rovers will always need maintenance and it’s no good having something you can’t get access on. Can’t be arsed with that.

I thought I had cured my unerring habit of buying previously unwanted (by me) cars after the cheap ones have all disappeared. I'll be back in therapy at this rate.
