That's kind of my take on it. I don't need to do this shit. There is no rush to finish it and when you do finish it you'll only go and start something else. I'm not suggesting I get near perfection every time but as long as you edge closer to it with each task then that's a good thing.

I did it with the body still on, there was plenty of room to get in with the welding torch tbh.

Weighed in a bunch of mixed metal and two car batteries. Got £22 which I thought was alright.

Dolomite shell is cut up now to weigh in too. Will be glad to get the driveway space back.

Mrs BMH actually took her 206cc out today, basically because I gave her little choice. Having fixed it ( why oh fucking why do Peugeot think that having a cable on the accelerator to a sensor a few inches from the throttle body, rather than just attaching it to the throttle body is a good idea) after it's big fuck up on the M1 just over two weeks ago. She said she'd never drive it again after that episode but I've been driving it and yesterday left it in front of the rest of the fleet. She says my car is too big and heavy (FFS, it's an Ibiza) and the Matiz is an "embarrassment" (there isn't a straight panel) so this morning, going to her 'nails done', she didn't have much choice.

"Really drives well" was her comment on return, still don't trust it.

Money says she'll be driving it on Saturday...

My Jag is the same for cables and sensors. In Jags case they did it when they added a motorised TB for cruise control.

Ime manufacturers did that when going from a design with cabled throttle bodies to a later engine with an electronic throttle body. The accelerator pedal is setup for a cable and its already setup to go to the engine bay. Also modern diesels need an electronic throttle sensor too.

Petrol with electronic throttle bodies can make the ECU run more efficiently and reduce fuel consumption+ emissions. Also cheaper for fitting with cruise.
