What did you do today?

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

It really is! It's as straight as a die down the sides and there is zero alloy corrosion anywhere (as I spent a fortune having it all eradicated!) and there are just a few blebs (stone chips) on the bonnet to worry about... which I do as I'm insane! The only things I know of that are wrong with it are; the fucking roof lining which is gonna get done this summer and a rubber boot on a track rod end is split. Of course, the MOT is due in a month or so (have I really had the sod a year already?) and as I will take it to the fussiest place on the planet as usual, they will find a few more things wrong and advisories by the hundred that will piss me off.

Why the fuck do I keep on going back?

Oh yeah, 'cos Mark is as straight as the sides of my car and he's the MoT tester, known him for 30 years and if he says it's fucked, it probably (definitely) is.

Booked the mot for the Rover for Friday. I put it on the ramp and had a butchers under it beforehand, the perished CV boot which got an advisory last year is even more perished now but doesn’t look split to me.
The only other thing I can see that it might fail on is the rear brake pipes but again I think they’re ok for the moment.
Wiped the oil off the side of the engine and the sump. (Cam cover gasket)
Cleaned the wiper blades, topped up the washer fluid.

Fingers crossed for another years ticket.

I remember a thread on that somewhere years ago. I think the record was about 90mins, someone had pulled out of the dealer & written the car off in a few yards.

I think Paul is a little early with the 73 reg as that is September time. It was 23 that came out yesterday. I have seen 2 so far a VW electric shitbox being driven so slowly I thought he was going to stop and a bloody great John Deere tractor. Who say's there is no money in farming !

Quick google suggests it should be a '23. Deffo an error on the dealer. I thought at the time that '72 was the last one out.
