Such a shame it got cut up in the Sixties......Mrs Rocker has a commemorative brooch from the ship somewhere. I can't imagine the tension being at Dunkirk watching what may well have been the last rescue attempts sail away without you.....

It is a shame that she was scrapped. Grandfather Impala drove a Morris Quad with 25 pounder gun attached which he had to abandon about 25 miles from Dunkirk, he and his fellow soldiers then walked to Dunkirk whilst occasionally under fire. We do know that towards the end of May he and his unit were in Arras, fast forward 70 years and I was in Arras with the Impala on my way to an event in Laon. I had no idea that I was sort of walking in his footsteps.
