What car were you entitled to?LynehamHerc wrote: ↑Wed Jun 07, 2023 7:39 pm No, it was a cast off from a salesman who got sacked that was an interim car whilst I was at war with the Finance Director and Chief Accountant. Needless to say, as I'd only recently qualified, I lost but it gave me a kick up the arse to get out of there.
Hello Hal, we have a problem.

Re: Hello Hal, we have a problem.
It was a mk3 1.6GL Escort which was quite a nice car as my first company car. If I'd stayed at my previous employer it would have been a 1.3L Cortina but I left there after, believe it or not, a bust up with the Chief Accountant and Finance Director.
I was bloody good at my job but really didn't, and still don't, suffer fools gladly which is not ideal in a newly qualified accountant in very hierarchical organisations.

A 1.3 Cortina isn't as fuel efficient as a 1.6.LynehamHerc wrote: ↑Wed Jun 07, 2023 7:47 pm It was a mk3 1.6GL Escort which was quite a nice car as my first company car. The joys of watching the new fleet of cars arrive and knowing that you're going to get the crumbs as a new boy.

It was what's the cheapest car we can buy and keep our managers decision. They kept on being sent back to the dealer due to the appalling fuel consumption.
The best laugh though was our HR manager, Susan, towed a horsebox and Batley and around there is a bit hilly.
