I've found Bilt Hamber Dynax UB to be a lot better than waxoil. Things rust quite quickly here but it's due to the sea air rather than salt on the roads though:

I got my ls400 from a young chap in Edinburgh. It had a blow on the exhaust so I took it to a garage who put it on the ramps. It was fucking hanging underneath. The titanic looked in better health. I punted it on soon after.

There are some old boys on a farm not far from me who literally paint their stuff underneath with grease to good effect. If it works on your fixings...Drum wrote: ↑Mon Jul 24, 2023 10:32 pmI slathered burst oil on the underside of my x trail but it got washed off fairly quickly. I've tried waxoil in the past with limited success. I put grease on most fixings when refitting.DodgeRover wrote: ↑Mon Jul 24, 2023 9:44 pm It must get so depressing watching stuff literally dissolve in front of your eyes, have you tried lathering then underneath with old oil mixed with a bit of wax oil or similar?
The punto is looking particularly scabby. Not so much on the bodywork but subframe, running gear etc.

Fitted a replacement door mirror to the Focus. I bought the car with a damaged mirror. Something gave it a right slap.
Thing is, the speakers in that door don't work either. Failed due to shock?

I'd look at the wires and the connections first, especially where they go through the door.Tetleysmooth wrote: ↑Tue Jul 25, 2023 10:54 am Fitted a replacement door mirror to the Focus. I bought the car with a damaged mirror. Something gave it a right slap.
