Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

That'd probably be a nice collection trip.

A few 3CV's available here in Spain, but advertised at higher prices than France and UK. Perhaps the lack of rust means less costs in repairs.

Not surprised they're more expensive with that extra horse.

I think that the cheap source dried up over a decade ago.

See also RWD Escorts from ZA.
Back in about 2004/5 the bike school I worked for shared space with an MOT testing station. One of their regular punters was a bloke who imported 2CVs of all ages from France from ripple bonnet onwards. Even back then he told me that the supply in France was drying up.

Look at it peeking at me.

I'm obsessed. It is such great fun. One headlamp has been winking, turns out it's the bulb. It looks fantastic with the yellow bulbs but they were crap on the collection drive home (not helped by this one winking I suppose) so I've got boring ones coming to the motor factor this morning.

Well I think it's only to be expected that a few things are cropping up.

New coil is in the post, but it's been running fine on the insulation tape. Hopefully fit tomorrow.

As per, the afterthought dangly fog light has not stood up well to my *ahem* "spirited driving". That's been cabled tied on until I can think of something better. (I believe LED units would not technically be allowed, but what would be the chances of being caught out? Surely a functional fog light is a bigger benefit than having an led where a filament bulb should be?).

Exhaust blowing at the joint between the manifold and the heat exchanger (2cv heater air is supplied to the cabin or dumped out under the wings by a set of foam lined cardboard tubes: the air is warmed by passing over the cooling fins through tinwork engine ducting then up through a heat exchanger box wrapped around the exhaust. Obv the leak means that the heater is tainted with exhaust fumes). Temporary bodge with bandage for now, awaiting some posh new clamps. Will need to slacken off the bolts from which the cross box hangs from the gearbox and adjust the exhaust from that first joint with the manifold.

Which bit of the RVLR 1989 precludes fitting a LED foglamp to this pre-1986 vehicle?

I know there are technicalities on some obligatory lamps, but I don't think they come into play with fogs as they have no intensity or wattage requirements.

I assumed rear.

Here's the FBHVC article from Issue 5 2017.
