Photo dump for the rest of the Tranfagarasan, it's a road that lives up to the hype. Traffic at the top was mental even on a weekday though. Glad I was going north as no queues in the tunnel unlike coming up the other side.

You're right with the weather. Was talking to a local MC club who were on the Transalpina yesterday and they said it's been heavy hail there for two days, when I'd been melting at Corvin castle...

Isn't that the road that Ceausescu (Communist leader of Romania until they put him against a wall in 1989) had built so he could live out his fantasies of driving the best roads in the world ?
