Or has it ? The Streetview can’t be very old as it’s got the COVID inspired fucked up parking spaces replaced by wider pavements and cafe areas etc.
But it’s green.

Seeing this has highligted again some of the inconsistencies I noticed when these Economy Runs were still current practices in the motoring world.....
The difference obtained from the Consul vs. Zephyr for instance. Maybe the six was overdrive-equipped or maybe working less overall but it seems a big increase. Likewise the A55, similarly powered/weighted to a Consul but so much better on fuel, it seems. I should have expected better from a P4 4 banger too with its freewheel device - or maybe they were not allowed to use that. Perhaps it was just down to the driving.......
There's a great long bar in Rock & Roll heaven.......

Aye I'd assume the drivers had a lot to do with it. I recall an article in an old copy of small car saying journalists almost got banned from one run due to treating it as a race.

Bloody horrible things. Too tall, stupidly heavy controls, vibrate like hell and only handle when really caning it. My mate Wrecker had one and on normal roads I’d ride away from him on my Moto Guzzi Le MansII as it was such a handful. They do sound fantastic though, I’ll give them that.
