The diesel Bluey wasn't a cheap fix when it went wrong though. Not very economical either.DodgeRover wrote: ↑Sat Dec 02, 2023 11:11 pm Christ after reading all this I think you should insist he go out and buy a Sierra in either 2.0i pinto flavour or 2.3D
What the Golf costs him in stress will pay for a lot of Sierra repairs.
Even better a Bluebird diesel, a million taxi drivers can't be wrong.

Needs gearbox rebuild and clutch, turbo whistling it's tits off and three central locking actuators.
Or mine did all within about two months of buying it. 60k miles and full history. Thankfully all done under warranty.
Gearbox started doing it's shaking thing again about three months later so I fucked it off to some Asian lads from Manchester.

He's gone to chichester in it ,and arrived, with my daughter, and he's happy with it .and the car. Tailgate struts are weak but they're only a tenner a pair . Might just be the cold finishing them off .paulplom wrote: ↑Sun Dec 03, 2023 4:03 pm Needs gearbox rebuild and clutch, turbo whistling it's tits off and three central locking actuators.
