Re: What did you do today?
Fixed a mate's Shogun passenger window today, the glass had parted company with the clamps on the scissor mechanism. Not too tricky to fettle, once I'd worked out how it all bolted together. It's a MUCH better design than on a Discovery.
On the road:
1998 Disco 4.0 V8 (manual)
1994 Vauxhall Calibra 3.0 V6
Running but need fettling:
1986 Honda CBX750F
1991 Maserati 222 SE
1990 Yamaha XJ900F
Tax & MOT-exempt, woohoo!
1982 Suzuki GSX1100SZ Katana

A couple of small patches to weld up too. Then I can get some paint on the bastard.

There was a dent which I got 90% out, good enough for this motor. The steel is very good to work, very soft and malleable, I beat a dent outwards with hammers, then run a propane torch over the area, sand any paint off and give it coat of grey primer. Then slap any high spots down from the outside. The outside of this wing is really rather good for it's age, I just hope it fits reasonably well.

Re: What did you do today?
I replace the fucked rear brakes and fucked water pump on the Z3. The brakes were an utter cunt, the pump piss easy.
I've had a 200 quid gripper on the fucking thing so it should be gone in 3 weeks.

Re: What did you do today?
I welded in a small patch pretty abysmally; not helped by welding helmet being out of battery so point and shut eyes technique used, nonetheless I had a mild tan this morning.

I've had to do a few jobs on that Shogun.
It isn't.

*Hnnnnnnngh*
Then labour on top. Porsche Tax basically. Non genuine bottles exist but its been advised many a time for your own sanity to not use them.
I was intending to do most of it myself and make a YouTube video on it once we move house. However I just want to use the car right now. My local garage said ok to the suspension work on the Boxster and I'm really hoping that they'll be happy to do the coolant tank too. No special tools are needed, apart from small and leathery thick hands maybe.
I'm hoping that in 2020 we'll have a bit of a road trip to South of France in it.

Re: What did you do today?
I've SORN'd the Laguna and put it in storage. MGB GT is out till after this weekend and it'll go back in. Boxster will then be taxed and come out for a bit of a run. Not only could it do with it, I also want to have a play in it. Especially in this cold weather with the roof down. I'm hoping my local garage will do most of the work - they've previously agreed to the suspension work but I seriously cba to do the coolant bottle as its supposed to be a pig of a job. Especially not in this cold weather. I also planned to do a bunch of YouTube videos on it, but that needed to wait till we move. Bit fed up with everything at the moment in life, so thought I should play with my toys a bit and hopefully cheer me up.
