My missus' argument is that her car, a 36,000 mile Skoda Roomster, cost 5k and here I am spending that amount on a pair of sills for my 'toy' which she reckons I won't use.
Emotion rather than logic has prevailed however with the proviso of if I don't use it I'll sell it.

I'm just waiting for the local garage guy to come back to confirm the floorpans are OK, if not it's another world of welding pain apparently, and whether it is feasible to put part sills in rather than full ones although I'm not very hopeful of that. I've given the go-ahead to get it booked in, based on the floorpans being OK, with the exact work to be done to be confirmed.

The good news is there's no road tax on it and insurance is cheap so providing I live to about 120 or so it should have been a good investment.

A Skoda Roomster will plummet in value. I guarantee you that with the rising prices of classic cars compared with the depreciation and maintenance bills of the Skoda, your hobby is far more cost effective than buying the Skoda!
