A decent Bantam has been over £1k for about a decade now. I remember looking when my crazy ex got one.

Re: What did you do today?
Well I lasted exactly 8 days without a car ‘of my own’ . Since I sold the XF and Merc Estate I’ve considered Audi A7s, lateish VM engined Grand Cherokees and X5s . So naturally I spent less than I got for the S211 and a quarter of what my Mrs wanted to spend on some barely newer but infinitely more expensive to run heap, on this;
I love ‘em and have fond memories of the one I had 10 years ago, for £1900 with FSH and only 100k miles, what’s not to love?- Hooli

Basically a heavily parts bin car from your older S211.
Possibly why you like them given their DNA?

Maybe, but a lot of is the comfort, same reason I used to like Mk4 Zodiacs and Granadas. In fact I see 300s as the modern* interpretation of the old fashioned non prestige mass market luxury car.

I think you are right and it accounted for their strong appeal in the UK market.

One of these is absolutely on my bucket list. That's a nice colour too, most I see are silver.NorfolkNWeigh wrote: ↑Mon Jan 22, 2024 7:21 pm Well I lasted exactly 8 days without a car ‘of my own’ .
