It seems a bit coincidental that you've taken it somewhere, they've checked it over/moved/tested stuff and now it's permanently broken?Parantodd392 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 11, 2024 10:14 pm Turns out I now have the ep light on permanently so gonna change the 2/4 solenoid as that’s the next port of call otherwise it’s the wiring behind the dash to check, the car is stressing me out loads atm just want it sorted

You must regret selling the bomb-proof 600 for this?

Re: 75 waggoni
It's taken Paz ages to find one of these within budget to take on a sub 1K car trip to Scotland iirc so he has something he can kip in the back of? It's not that straight forward.AutoshiteBoy wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2024 8:38 pmI guess they found the fault....Scruffy Bodger wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2024 2:01 pmIt seems a bit coincidental that you've taken it somewhere, they've checked it over/moved/tested stuff and now it's permanently broken?Parantodd392 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 11, 2024 10:14 pm Turns out I now have the ep light on permanently so gonna change the 2/4 solenoid as that’s the next port of call otherwise it’s the wiring behind the dash to check, the car is stressing me out loads atm just want it sorted

Re: 75 waggoni
In some ways I do miss the 600 especially as the current owner is putting tacky alloys and coilovers on it but I had a bit of a meltdown yesterday and I’ve realised that as it seems to just be a canbus issue it’s easy to narrow down what’s wrong with it as there’s only a few connectors to check my theory is that as it had been sat for a bit there’s gonna be some corrosion on one of them as it’s intermittent so gonna clean all the connections with contact cleaner and a toothbrush in the morningScruffy Bodger wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2024 8:58 pmIt's taken Paz ages to find one of these within budget to take on a sub 1K car trip to Scotland iirc so he has something he can kip in the back of? I've found that contact cleaner recommended by Eddie Rainman and Sheefag to be the best I've ever tried. It resurrected a dead pot on a stereo that hadn't worked in 10 plus years without even taking it apart.
Note. first link I found, should be cheaper elsewhere. Scratch it up with a fine blade or very small screwdriver or metal toothbrush if possible.

Re: 75 waggoni
I wasn't being funny. I was coming at it from somebody who sold Rover 600s and moved onto selling Rover 75s. I owned a 600 until recently and I regret selling it. Would I buy a 75? Not unless it was very special.Scruffy Bodger wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2024 8:58 pm It's taken Paz ages to find one of these within budget to take on a sub 1K car trip to Scotland iirc so he has something he can kip in the back of? Re: 75 waggoni
He’s been guiding me on what could be the issue with the car as it’s a can bus failure that’s being flagged up and suggested it could be the IPK connectors auto box ecu connectors or the can bus header between the cabin an engine bay I haven’t got a clue what the header looks like but I’m gonna take every connector apart that I find under the dash and clean them up I did read that the fuses on 03 and later can get tarnished so gonna clean them with a scourer

I clicked on this thread expecting to see some red hot Alfa action. I got so angry I put my fist through my laptop screen!

I’ve managed to sort the error it was the instrument pack of all things and I’ve added an android based head unit to the car to keep my millennial brain entertained I’ve even downloaded the only app anyone would ever need
