It seems a bit coincidental that you've taken it somewhere, they've checked it over/moved/tested stuff and now it's permanently broken?

I guess they found the fault....

You must regret selling the bomb-proof 600 for this?

It's taken Paz ages to find one of these within budget to take on a sub 1K car trip to Scotland iirc so he has something he can kip in the back of? It's not that straight forward.

In some ways I do miss the 600 especially as the current owner is putting tacky alloys and coilovers on it but I had a bit of a meltdown yesterday and I’ve realised that as it seems to just be a canbus issue it’s easy to narrow down what’s wrong with it as there’s only a few connectors to check my theory is that as it had been sat for a bit there’s gonna be some corrosion on one of them as it’s intermittent so gonna clean all the connections with contact cleaner and a toothbrush in the morning

I've found that contact cleaner recommended by Eddie Rainman and Sheefag to be the best I've ever tried. It resurrected a dead pot on a stereo that hadn't worked in 10 plus years without even taking it apart.

Note. first link I found, should be cheaper elsewhere. Scratch it up with a fine blade or very small screwdriver or metal toothbrush if possible.

I wasn't being funny. I was coming at it from somebody who sold Rover 600s and moved onto selling Rover 75s. I owned a 600 until recently and I regret selling it. Would I buy a 75? Not unless it was very special.

He’s been guiding me on what could be the issue with the car as it’s a can bus failure that’s being flagged up and suggested it could be the IPK connectors auto box ecu connectors or the can bus header between the cabin an engine bay I haven’t got a clue what the header looks like but I’m gonna take every connector apart that I find under the dash and clean them up I did read that the fuses on 03 and later can get tarnished so gonna clean them with a scourer
