What did you do today?

Today gone to shit. Pulled the alternator off the van,wheeled the bike outside and used it to go down bypass to get it tested. Alternator shagged so bought a reman from the company. On way home I was overtaking a line of cars doing around 50 mph on the bypass through a junction that has had a shitty surface for a while now and didn't see the deep pothole. Never noticed it in the car either but hit it and suspension on back end nearly bottomed out. Coming off the sliproad and it felt like I had a low pressure tyre so pulled up and the back wheel had a major wobble. Wife came out with tools and I tightened up spindle not but still had a massive wobble and the sprocket bolts catching swingarm. Oh bollocks. Had to abandon bike in the next town over as my friend borrowed the trailer so fetching it back tomorrow. I'm expecting a major buckle on the wheel and possibly a slightly bent swingarm.

Put a claim in to the council for the damage, at least it didn't throw you into the road and under a car!

Thanks guys. Feeling a bit downtrodden and annoyed. Can't go taken photos as it's in middle of the bypass too. As has been said,could have been a lot worse.

Shouldn't need a photo, Bub, just report the exact location....No doubt they are aware of it. Bad enough on 3 or 4 wheels but on a bike that's a near miss....

I tried claiming once after a pothole destroyed an alloy. After six months of the cuntcil demanding the same info again and again or just pretending they'd sent me a form etc, I gave up

We tried claiming for a dented rim on one of my cars. Pothole was big enough to fit a wheel trim in but they said it's been reported and mad em ejump through hoops. I gave up.

Not really. When it becomes an old banger, you'll just use the keyfob instead of the keyless lock/unlock.

Until the comfort access module fails and the car won't start. If it's like a modern-ish BMW you can just unplug it.
