My God. That poor old Packard. Twin sidemounts, swan bonnet ornament and all. What a sad end for a graceful car, I dread to think how many Yanks ended their days like this, ignominiously dumped on some waste ground. The sooner someone invents a time machine for me the better...

Some of 'em didn't even make it to moulder in yard, just died in the street.....

I guess getting parts for cars like would be difficult & expensive unless you knew a specialist.
In the 1970s a lot of big old cars were dumped because of the already high running costs became beyond mere mortals due to the rising cost of petrol.

They were very well catered for regarding parts and service, Motor magazines of the 1950's and early 60's are full of adverts for them. Joe Thompson was the Packard concessionaire whilst Lendrum and Hartman supplied GM. Both London based.
