Re: Experimental 60mph Motorway Speed Limit
Excellent news if you've just spunked 60000 on a Tesla. 2 of my motors are already 60 mph compliant.

Re: Experimental 60mph Motorway Speed Limit
Just no !!! admittedly most of our motorways are so congested 60 is a struggle. I hate to imagine how bad it would be with slower traffic, I can only think it is a ploy to stop people driving anywhere. Cars are now safer than ever so it can't be for safety and congestion causes more pollution so it isn't for environmental reasons either. Stupid fucking idea !

Re: Experimental 60mph Motorway Speed Limit
The modern motor car has been developed to run at peak efficiency at motorway speeds of 70-80mph. Most markets have their maxima in that range. Forcing them to run at a lower speed will not enhance the pollution figures.
Maybe the funds are down from lockdown, restricted movement, working from home, fuck all social life etc. and a few more speeding fines are felt necessary?
I don't know, I have simply given up trying to fathom the cunts that get put in charge of things these days. So much else is falling apart and going to the dogs and they fuck about with speed limits.

Re: Experimental 60mph Motorway Speed Limit
It looks like it's due to pollution exceeding EU defined limits:

Nah - about 3 times that whilst burning duty free fuel.
You'd need something like a biplane to take off at that speed I reckon.
I note that the pollution limit is to be brought in near where I think Hooli lives - coincidence?

I'm cutting edge me, yesterday I nearly finished rebuilding my vans original speedo- it had previously got its face kicked in. Now at least I won't have the misery of dribbling along with the needle hardly registering.
