Re: EBay Finds
This bloke talks a bit of twaddle sometimes, too.....On this occasion however he appears to have something of some interest. Yarpie Hunter with a 504 engine - I rather like this thing. Not a great deal of money either.

Re: EBay Finds
That Bunter is ace - and I never knew they made 'em like this in/for SA.
The only thing that needs changing is the bloody awful number plates.

Re: EBay Finds
I learned to drive sideways, heel and toe and handbrake turn (with my right hand) in a Hunter. It was also the car I did my first engine swap in.mercrocker wrote: ↑Tue Sep 22, 2020 9:27 pm This bloke talks a bit of twaddle sometimes, too.....On this occasion however he appears to have something of some interest. Re: EBay Finds
I like that Galaxie too - and was just about to go full on pedant about the seller's bogus reason for it being RHD but found two of you had beaten me to it.
I may have mentioned this before - but if you fancy some old Yank Tank and are prepared to "put up" with having the steering in the proper place, there's bargains to be had. They'd be asking 10-12k for that at least if it was a left hooker.
EDIT
Seller doesn't mention what Engine/Trans so assume it's the straight six.

Re: EBay Finds
That is nice, but I prefer the Riley version as I am a contrarian - especially since there was almost no Riley content by then.64A60 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 21, 2020 11:06 pm Nice Palmer Wolseley.

Re: EBay Finds
Plenty of yank tin was sold in Australia where rhd was mandatory. Quite a bit in south Africa too.AMCrebel wrote: ↑Tue Sep 22, 2020 9:54 pm I like that Galaxie too - and was just about to go full on pedant about the seller's bogus reason for it being RHD but found two of you had beaten me to it.

Re: EBay Finds
My mate at Uni had a Bunter estate that a previous owner had fitted twin Weber 40s to along with lower suspension and a fancy exhaust. He used the rev it up at the lights and flames came out of the carbs - the nearside inner wing was charred. It looked like something off the Blue - if the Blue (or even the internet) had existed 40 years ago.

Re: EBay Finds
The Riley version of the shape is quite a different car, particularly the Pathfinder which did at least have the Riley lump. The 2.6 (with the C Series) was companion to the Wolseley 6/90. The bigger ones vs. the smaller Wolseley (and MG Magnette) share only a similar silhouette - a bit like the 4 and 6 pot Farinas. Haven't seen a Riley Pathfinder or 2.6 for ages but there is a Wolseley 6/90 on Ebay at the moment, coincidentally being flogged by the geezer with the SA Hunter.....AMCrebel wrote: ↑Tue Sep 22, 2020 9:56 pmThat is nice, but I prefer the Riley version as I am a contrarian - especially since there was almost no Riley content by then.64A60 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 21, 2020 11:06 pm Nice Palmer Wolseley.
