Starting to accumulate the necessary parts to make my Aprilia etx 125 a little bit faster, So far I've bought a Mitaka 140cc big bore head, Rave 2 Powervalve, Italkit Carbon reeds, 34mm inlet and 34mm dellorto carb. I've derestricted the ecu and removed the cat from the exhaust. I'm still tempted to buy an Arrow stainless exhaust and tail pipe to finish it off.

Re: Two wheels good.
I really don't want to start thinking about what I've spent on this... The Mitaka big bore kit was 2nd hand at £160, the Dellorto 34mm carb was £185, I bought reeds and an inlet for an RS125 for £95 only to find the inlet was incompatible so paid £50 for the correct one and discovered it won't work with the reed block I bought unless I modify it..DodgeRover wrote: ↑Fri Dec 04, 2020 7:23 pm How much was that little lot FOAD? Is it a getting Delorto carb or a copy?
The pneumatic powervalve unit was a round £80 and I've just bought a bunch of different jets amounting to £50ish plus an unrestricted CDI unit for £50.
Fuck me, the bike is still probably only worth around what I paid for it (£1500) so it looks like if I fit all of this tat I'll definitely have t keep it.

Re: Two wheels good.
3 wheels not so good. I flogged the coat on ebay last week, the matchbox went a couple of years ago. There are bikes I've owned that are missed, but this wasn't one of them. I like some of AMCs post jampot singles and twins and have had a few.
I bought the chair and put it on for film work, but it never got used. Its a Swallow (as in Jag) chassis but the 'bodywork' is home made. Bizarrely it had a mounting for a TV screen inside so I assume the passenger didn't go willingly- it doesn't take long in it to understand why.

I'd like to try a chair, but only from the driver's seat.

Re: Two wheels good.
They're a perverse means of transport. I sold a couple of those side valve* 750 two wheel drive Russian flat twins back to where they originated from. On an autobahn near Cologne when I was delivering one on a very hot day, the engine started to tighten up. I'd stuck at only 55 all the way from Northants, and though there was nothing mechanically wrong, it's primitive valve arrangement just couldn't lose heat fast enough. I backed off to 50 and we reached its new home- hopefully the novelty of a reverse gear was compensation enough for the purchaser. Plus the one characteristic on a par with an 750 Kawasaki stroker- 26 mpg.
BBC presenter Libby Purves described the outfits (really) as "built for crossing Poland without permission" which is a better appraisal than MCNs road test.
On that trip I rode another strange machine briefly, a 350 shaft drive MZ. These two strokes sacrifice usual flat twin smoothness somewhat with both cylinders firing together- I assume the Velocette Viceroy is similar but I've never had the pleasure...
*A KMZ 750, not to be confused with Ural or Dnepr 650s in case you give a shit.

I love an outfit. I’ve had a couple over the years. Really odd things to drive/ride. See screenshot of a post I did a while ago. (I don’t know how to quote across threads.)

But you're only needing to quote In the same thread!
I'd like to try one, but I suppose for the hell of it I'd get a big bastard like a Watsonian Oxford then spend ages working out how to strap it to the RT.

To fit a chair to your RT you’d need a special sub frame. (According to the Watsonian web site.)
