Re: Escort van. Round 2 ding ding.
I've ordered a new resistor from rates ford of grays Essex for 29 quid. My local ford dealer wanted 73 plus vat. The ply lining I'm still looking into. I dont know of any other breakers except for albert looms, podders and u pul it. Never been to u pull but it's one I've heard of. Will look for van liners in Bolton.

Re: Escort van. Round 2 ding ding.
New resistor fitted. Fuel gauge still wonky. As proven by the self appointed gods jag seat calamity.
I'm in the process of making a wooden bulkhead. I've moved the factory lower bulkhead back by use of L brackets and a wooden framework each side. Dont think I'm going to bother with a full ply line as I've read some bad things about condensation.
Things left to do now are the bonnet hinges, rear door alignment and swapping the headlight when I can find a new one.

Re: Escort van. Round 2 ding ding.
Picked up 10 4ft by 20 inch ply sheets to attempt ply lining. Cant get the bastard battens to stick to side of van. Maybe I need more expensive glue or adhesive. Any recommendations? Stuff I've used is a caulking gun with instant nails in it.

Sticks like shit turbo, CT1, tigerseal all of them will do it but you need to apply pressure to the joint while it sets

So instant nails no good? Dont want to end up spending a fortune on different things to end up with it falling off anyway!

Depends on which one it is, the ones that dry hard and crusty are no good, you need something that will flex slightly.

Apply pressure to it whilst it dries, either clamp it or wedge another bit of wood across the van to press it up tight

Re: Escort van. Round 2 ding ding.
Heater fan started squealing. Great. I've found the fan,its under the bonnet. Does anyone know what the inspection panel,a little rectangle cover is for in the foot well of the passenger side,at bottom if dashboard? Seems to have a filter of some sort but it doesnt pull out and I'm pretty sure these havent hot a pollen filter.
