Re: Escort van. Round 2 ding ding.
So today was a little eventful. removed the bulkhead and firewall under bonnet, removed battery and moved harness out the way to get to the heater motor box. Was a bit of a faff to get out but I managed it. Unclipped the casing to get to motor. Sounds like a dry bearing so a liberal dose of wd40 and reassembled. Still has a bit if a squeak but nothing I cant live with. Next time I remove it its having a new motor.
Battery issue though. The bonnet is lifted slightly on passenger side. Found out the bonnet is catching the battery cover. Measured battery thinking it's the wrong size but it's not. Any ideas as to why it seems to be sitting high?

Is there a metal box underneath you can remove to make it sit lower?
There was on the metro so the clamp could bite.

Battery issue sorted. One fitted was too big causing bonnet not to shut properly. that could have got interesting very quickly.

Why do you want to ply line it in the first place?
If it's to stash Class A drugs behind to do a County Lines drug carting operation then could you please cut me in on it?

Not an expert, but the ones I've seen were fastened with screws to the reinforcing spars.

Apparently one of the other chippys mates got caught with 3 kilos of some type of illegal pharmaceutical at the weekend, he was having a mild panic as obviously his number will be in the phone the other fella was carrying whilst picked up.Warren t claim wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 4:39 pmWhy do you want to ply line it in the first place?

Re: Escort van. Round 2 ding ding.
Wanted to ply line to try and cut a bit of road noise out but mainly to protect the metal work. Thing is regarding screwing it to the spars is there is only 1 central beam each side And nothing at the front. Fucked if I know how ford do it. On the subject again of the heater fan, it is still making a noise. If I go round a left hand bend the noise gets louder. Right hand bend it goes quiet. And its definitely fan cos no noise when turned off. How bizarre. It is properly screwed and secured too.
