Been a quiet year for me. Still got the c15 and the bx. Bought a 36k miles from new Citroen zx estate, diesel automatic. It's now on 38k miles and is a lovely car but comically slow.
Then took a gamble and bought a 600 quid Jag with a full MOT unseen off eBay. Managed less than 15 miles from collection in Christchurch and broke down in clouds of blue smoke obliterating the A31. Came home via autoaid recovery and the very honest trader refunded me 300 quid as he didn't want it back. The fault turned out to eventually be a blocked breather which filled one of the cats with oil. I've since added about a thousand miles to the total mileage and have completely fell in love with it.
Mines the blue one!-

Hmmm as with some here not that much to report with my fleet of four elderly cars. My 20yo Primera continues to give sterling service although I don't use it very much really. The 2001 Primera estate parts car remains in situ on my drive slowly developing its own eco system. The Impala only went out for fresh fuel and an a chance to blast it through the four gears and for the three carbs to be exercised. I've owned it for 32 years and never get tired of that V8 rumble and its sheer presence. The Anglia ventured out for about the first time in two years with a gallon of fresh Esso super unleaded added to the, ahem, two year old fuel residing in the tank. Only went to the next village and back but it ran and drove very sweetly as usual. Hopefully this year will be better and both will get some more outings to local-ish shows . Photos of them both enjoying a nice day out a couple of years ago below.

Cheers, I've owned the Anglia for 20 years now, it's an early '59 car registered one week after the 105E's introduction. All original, three owners, the first keeping it for 30 years and 32,626 on the clock. It's a sweetheart of a car. It's possibly the oldest one that can venture out onto the highway. If you ever venture up this way you'd be welcome to drop by.

An unusual colour too, though I've seen the odd Consul in that pale yellow. It puts the size differrence into perspective, there you have two cars of the same body type but vastly different external dimensions.

As for my fleet there has been little change. In came an Escort Mk.2 RS2000 and a 2 door Minor I have been stripping for parts. No change on the others which include the big Humber, Minor Traveller and Allegro. I might well let the Allegro go this year, I've had it 8 years and it lives outside in all weathers but is now at that stage where it needs some welding work and I don't really have the inclination to get it done.

I will confess to owning an Allegro, it was the 1750HL version in a kind of bronze with a peeling vinyl roof. A friend had it for sale for 100 quid with tax and MoT, must have been about 1985-ish, it was R-reg. Bit of a bargain so I added to my fleet and more or less immediately put it up for sale for about £175. Had it a few weeks and a mate gave me 150 quid for it. Seemed a decent car but I only bought on a whim and then decided that it had to go.

I know of a couple in the same livery one of which is also a '59 car. It's Sunburst Yellow/Cirrus White. Confusingly the paint code for the later Conway Yellow is the same apparently although they're not quite the same. A friend who specialises in the big Fords has a couple of customers with yellow Mk2 Consuls, one with a white roof and the other black. Both are very nice examples.fried onions wrote: ↑Fri Jan 01, 2021 2:06 pm An unusual colour too, though I've seen the odd Consul in that pale yellow.
