Re: Supercharging the climate with a XJR V8 - Structural Failure
Cheers but I don't think it's quite that bad yet.

Re: Supercharging the climate with a XJR V8 - TIny Update
I've just realised how long it's been since I updated this.
Not much to report really, I've still not fixed the memory seat as I'm not looking forward to taking the potentiometer apart to try & sort it. I washed it today, still comes up nice. Oh & it appears to be self-fixing... the power steering leak has stopped leaking, I went to top it up today as I had been doing every month or so & the level hadn't gone down at all.

Nope, just the correct fluid. I wonder if it's cause it's got warmer & it'll leak again next winter?

Re: Supercharging the climate with a XJR V8 - Three amigos
I've not updated this for ages so here goes
The occasional ABS/TC/Stability warnings are getting much more common, to the point I think I need to fix it. It's bound to be an ABS sensor at fault, or the wiring to one. Especially as the issue started when I had the new tyres fitted last year.
I really should find time to take the wheels off and check the connections etc as it's probably something simple like that. I'd like to read the ABS codes too, which my EML327 ODBII reader doesn't do. That way I could confirm which wheel is the issue. I'll have to find out what code readers work as it probably won't be much more expensive than paying a garage to scan them.
Other than that, it's up to 17mpg on short runs which is an improvement on 13mpg. I've done nothing since finding the blown fuse for the intercooler water pump, so I assume the long term fuel trims have corrected themselves now it's running the right intake temps.

Maybe I've misread things but you're paying over 300 a month?
If you are do you have a history of being something like a get away driver?

Nope. Clean driving record. That's just the price of vehicle insurance over here.LynehamHerc wrote: ↑Fri Aug 27, 2021 6:24 pm Maybe I've misread things but you're paying over 300 a month?

The Renault was $87 a month to insure. The Chieftain is about $95 a month. The Challenger and Ram are much newer vehicles so cost more to insure because their worth is greater.
