The front of the Aston just doesn't look right. It's as if someone nicked the front grille.

Re: Squire's voitures
No - they were two distinctly different cars despite being mechanically similar. There is a blue and grey Sunbeam in the background of one my photos, I was talking to the owner about it. Inside, it is a very rakish sports saloon with a 'cockpit' seating position and instrument panel, whereas the Hawk is more spacious and upright.

Re: Squire's voitures
A few months ago I reversed into the garage and broke a red lens as I caught the bike's handlebars. I Araldited it back together but there were plenty of replacements at the rally.
I obtained a gasket for the whole light unit where it meets the body (gasket was missing) and sorted out the petrol filler seal. Previously the rubber bung/seal around the filler pipe was inside the car, allowing the filler pipe to move about slightly, so I secured it as it should be, above. This area of the boot should be dry now. The missing and defective seals allowed a little water in. I tested the lights before I finished off.
I was also pleased to be given a boot lamp, and I bought another amongst various parts. They are both different, I had to get a rubber seal for the glass, so I used part of a Morris bumper iron rubber I had cut to fit the MO, I could've thrown it away but knew it would come in useful one day.
The one I am holding appears to be missing a lens cover, but has the benefit of a built-in reflector by construction. They are mercury filled tilt-switches providing automatic operation. Both are a bit dicky and do not work reliably. You have to tap them to get them to work. On test the rectangular one appeared to work best, but didn't when attached to the boot lid, so I swapped it for the glass one instead. This works with a few persuasive taps and switches off automatically as you close the boot lid.
It may improve with use. Although not essential, it's nice to have a boot lamp and the 5 watt bulb I fitted gives adequate illumination.

Re: Squire's voitures
The Cowley has "automatic illumination of the luggage compartment interior" achieved by Nuffield simply omitting any kind of cover behind the rear light units so that they cast their white bulb light into the corners of the boot. Great for finding a lost washer but less use to actually see what you are doing....
There's a great long bar in Rock & Roll heaven.......

Re: Squire's voitures
Nothing wrong with French entertainment at all.
Les Folies Bergere is all I say.
Nah, when it comes to entertainment, the Brits have to learn a lot.
A lot indeed.

Can anyone think of a great Austrian entertainer since Mozart? Anyone?
