If I remember correctly the Jag estate had a R5 hatch as a tailgate.

Thing is though, you could pull up next to a Ferrari 400i or a BMW 850csi (other cracking looking motors IMO) and hold your own. It is genuinely a lovely looking cruiser. I just think it needs more than a 3.0 six up front unless it was half a 512bb engine. I’m sure the sales volume would have paid those kind of development costs!!!! Don’t get me wrong, I’d have one in a heartbeat.

Wasn't it about this time that turbos were being added to everything? A Lotus Carlton engine should be powerful enough but might not make the right noises.

Lotus Carton was 3.6 straight six with twin turbos from memory.

Is that all they had? Doesn't seem as insane these days does it? It's only 7bhp more than my XJR, I wonder how the weights stack up.
