I thought so but couldn't really tell for sure. It's the first video I've actually ever seen of him - I've only ever seen him in the odd picture in books and internet.

An astonishing man really. He suffered regularly from appalling headaches, but never took time off work.

Did he ever speak about the Le Mans of 1955? Not just about the disaster but his son getting killed on the way to the race? The Reverend Bluejeans wrote: ↑Sun Jun 19, 2022 11:20 am An astonishing man really. He suffered regularly from appalling headaches, but never took time off work.

According to the biography I read by Paul Skilleter, Lyons was very private and reserved, keeping all but close friends at arms length.Warren t claim wrote: ↑Sun Jun 19, 2022 10:32 pmDid he ever speak about the Le Mans of 1955? Re: Royal visit, Jaguar Cars 1956.
All stiff upper lip and British reserve I should imagine. Apparently even his second in command at Jaguar was forbidden to call him by his first name. When I worked in the corporate world I knew that I must have been acting like a prick that day when my secretary started calling me sir or Mr Claim and that was my cue to stop acting like a bellend. The Reverend Bluejeans wrote: ↑Sun Jun 19, 2022 11:29 pmAccording to the biography I read by Paul Skilleter, Lyons was very private and reserved, keeping all but close friends at arms length.Warren t claim wrote: ↑Sun Jun 19, 2022 10:32 pmDid he ever speak about the Le Mans of 1955?
