Past a Spitfire on the M5 earlier today. Apart from an impressive smoke cloud out the back as it cruised along, it's easy to forget how tiny they are. Our A4 is low compared to most other cars now (like SUVs) but it felt like a monster truck.

True. A nipper at college had a Mini that was so darkly tinted he felt quite safe driving it at 16 as he couldn't be recognised in it. Never got a pull!

The Oranges used to be parked on Berko High Street, I used to walk past them quite often in the 90s, as we only lived a few miles away and Berko was the nearest town..

Aye, they are from an age when cars were only big enough to be cars. When I had a Midget the ability to drive under most car park barriers was occasionally handy.

There's a beach car park near me that I've used for decades. They recently introduced a barrier rather than just pay-machines, you go in, have your stay and punch your reg. in on a machine that works out the cost which you then pay to be allowed back out. All well and good but it doesn't seem to recognise black and white plates....

Fed up with waiting for a human to answer the "help" button, I shortly discovered that the Minor fits through a gap between the barrier post and the dragon's teeth - designed to allow the beach ranger through on his quad. There was a rousing cheer from folk sat in front of the coffee shop.

As I suspected I was right about everything.
