Re: Found pics
Coaches and Jags, that's a pic
The Neoplan to the right looks like the Merc powered one I used to drive. About 14ltr V12 with a four over four as I recall. UB8665 I think

Re: Found pics
Very good Merc although that gorgeous 1959 Buick in the last photo is I think a top of the line Electra 225. The wheel covers and the lower trim mouldings suggest that. Great colours too, I do love a '59 Buick. Back in 2000 when I was in the US a guy I knew took me to a small town car show in a red '59 Invicta convertible with the 401ci V8, it did go quite well. And I won the long distance award despite not being in my Impala! Keep the excellent photos coming Mr animals.mercrocker wrote: ↑Mon Apr 22, 2024 9:37 am 1955 Oldsmobile Super 88 Holiday Coupe
1953 Ford Mainline
1960 Cadillac Coupe de Ville (possibly a convertible judging by the part of roof we can see)
1959 Rambler Cross Country station wagon
1956 Buick Century Estate Wagon
1956 Dodge Regent
1959 Buick Invicta
1950 Pontiac Silver Streak
1954 Oldsmobile (possibly a Rocket 88)
c1950 Nash Airflyte - probably an Ambassador
c1951 Studebaker - a Commander, I think
1955 Hudson Hornet
1956 Lincoln Premiere or Capri
1959 Buick - again I think this is the Invicta.
Await corrections from Mr Impala......
What a cracking set of shots oozing Fifties style, though.

Re: Found pics
I spy the Mk1 Consul/Zephyr in the background of the white '58 Cadillac. Great photos of great cars from an era before today's autonomous blobs.

Re: Found pics
There is a non-Detroit onslaught hareing down the beach towards that '59 Skyliner too! Couple of Studes and a Nash/Rambler.
These are great photos, not just for the cars of course but the people and the buildings as well as that great outdoors feel you always get in North America. Probably well worth the atom bomb fears but not, I wager, the forthcoming military drafts....

The first B&Q store, in Portswood, Southampton housed in an old picture-house. Named after Block & Quayle, the two founders.
"B" in the Greek alphabet is of course "Beta". The other car is a Quapri.
