That was 1980! Last train from London was on the 'Discovery' album from 1979. The GXL is still around, returned to its correct Maize yellow.

Re: Found pics
I had seen it before but predictably forgot all the details.....
Oddly enough the first "similar" google image result was an Arrow Rapier!
Edit - it seems wanky flickr won't play - google Bodycraft Cortina Lew Brandt instead. Fucking picture host parasites.

Re: Found pics
Is it a food vending vehicle, if not why is there a giant microwave oven built into the middle?

Re: Found pics
Wonder if that giant stack, despite the Cambridge, isn't in Germany. Several clues - many Opel/VW carcasses, no number plates and finally I can't imagine any self-respecting scrappy in Sixties England wearing a hard hat.....
These are fantastic images, though. I love the Lincs-registered 100E with it's racing stripe. Almost the last thing that ever happened to car back then was the addition of a hand-painted racing stripe - it was almost like being marked for death.

Re: Found pics
The A60 was scrapped in Denmark, once a big market for BMC.
Have a Foden and some 1100’s.

Re: Found pics
Foolishly bought this new and only kept it for a year. It lasted a further 6 with its next owners then the floor was rotted out and it was scrapped still looking immaculate on the outside. I paid extra for it to be 'Ziebarted', the garage must have thought I said 'Marmited'.
