Re: Found pics
I went there once in 1985 to meet with the marketing director to pitch for some work.unsurprisingly they had almost no budget for any PR work and I felt a bit of a flash git when the guy I was meeting was envious of my XR3i . He had one of those body kitted pop up sunroof things in the photo.

Theres an even funkier one with strange curvey bonnet and fins, must be few years later.
As I suspected I was right about everything.

Re: Found pics
1959? That would have been the last year of Pontiac tail-fins.
The Star Chief that year (Catalina nameplate was used for a lower-price line of its own for '59)....

It turned out that for years and years I'd been driving past that very car while stored under a tarp outside a scruffy house (it's been tarted up a bit in the google pic but looking unloved again now. I'd always wondered what it was and then saw it in the news. I'd say the car is now worth more than the house it was sat in front of.
I drove past it again just yesterday and there's another red one in the same spot under a tarp, the corner split recently giving a glimpse of the car underneath, deffo another P1800. There's always a Volvo brick estate parked just over the road and a while back there was a pickup version there too.
