Opel made some good cars in those days, now they seem to be restyled Peugeots. I suppose at least it still exists, unlike SAAB for example.

What's with Saab then? Know they folded but got taken... Who owns them or what ever is left.

The name (and right to produce a car or anything else Saab) is owned by the aeroplane company which still exists. The remains of the car company was bought up by the usual shady Chinese suspects who intend(ed) to build electric cars based on Saab designs. Whether or not this actually happened I neither know nor care.
