My dad apparently saved my mums life which also being the cause of the near miss. He hit a tree in my grandads cortina 1600e, grabbed the wheel and braved himself them struck his arm across her and saved her from the screen.
What a hero/idiot.

There is a surviving V-8 Humber Imperial prototype. The factory made a couple prior to the Chrysler takeover fitted with, I think, a Ford engine of all things. As soon as Chrysler took over the project was canned. No matter, because in typical American fashion although the engine size increased the performance figures showed no appreciable gain over the inline 6, especially the fuel consumption, which was much worse.

Here's my old moggy towed by my v70 that I owned for ten years before my ex bitch wrote it off against my van.
Pic for mercrocker.

Approved colour scheme and number of doors! Looks tidy, that. "Transitional" model like mine too, banjo wheel and clappy wipers. Nice.

I paid £250 for it off an architect mate. It was his daily and he'd downgraded to a 3 year old passat estate.
It didn't have mot but I fettled the rear brakes and it passed first time iirc.
