Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

Can someone give me good old kick up the arse? Please? I will pay!
Sorry as a fellow sufferer of 'Long' lazybastarditis 91, I can only encourage you to leave another week...then another... then another.

Thank you.

Carb cleaned, put together and back on the bike.

Traditionally the float got stuck and fuel pissed out of the overflow hole. Does it ever not happen?

Bike into up position, lean left, lean right few times back on stand and the float works. Friendly hit with a spanner was next on the list.

I will leave the test ride for another day.

I wouldn't be able to do it without you guys! Love you all!

Even old cars have to be tested here for CO emissions, correct me if I am wrong but in UK it is just a visual check.
Anyway, tester put the probe in the exhaust and the reading was 12 (of whatever it shows) so well over the 4.5 maximum for anything that runs on Swedish roads. Luckily they allow you to play with the carb there and then to tune it. Managed to bring it down to 0.2 which is modern car requirement.

It's kind of funny because the tester said that he doesn't care if the car runs rough or chokes or even dies after 5 seconds of running at the required emissions level. He only cares about the reading at that moment. What it shows after or before doesn't matter

Anyway, happy morning.

0.2% C/O is way too low for that so I hope you richen it back up. About 2.5% is ideal. Moderns can get away with running lower as they are adjusted all the time by the fuel injection systems where as a poor old carb is fixed and designed to run about perfect in the middle of it's range.

Absolutely, it was just for the test.

Currently running at just under 3. Don't know why mix was turned so high beforehand.

It's working quite sweet at the moment.

I don't think the test requires it to be that low. 4.5%? It's not handy that they've hidden the manual.

:D

Standard Swedish plate is ABC123 which has worked for years. But last year they run out of available combinations and introduced ABC12X.

So basically this plate is like XX21 in UK, brand new car

Finally got a nice ride out on the Sportster.

I am not entirely convinced that the issue with choking and loosing power is completely gone but it seems to be much better.

Got stopped by Police. Well I only noticed them when I parked in front of the house. Lights all flashing but couldn't have used sirens, I'm sure I would have heard them.

I must say though, first thought was that I'm in trouble. They jumped out, asked me to show them that headlight works as I forgot to switch it on. Did it and they were on their way after just telling me not to forget it again. No document checks or anything. Nice encounter all in all.

Good day I think. Even made a little video for you. Must excuse my appearance.
