May I suggest the thread is extended to our Antipodean brethren?
Two of my faves.
Holden Special Sedan (EJ). 6 cylinder two-and-a-quarter litre. 75 bhp 3 speed manual or Hydramatic. These were the days when sixes were king in Oz and NZ.
Wolseley 24/80. A car I would very much like to own in a nice colour for them. Why did the export markets get good cars you couldn't buy here?
2.4 litre 80 bhp 6 mated to 3 speed manual; I expect automatic transmission was an option.

6s or 8s were still king in Australia right through to the end of production of the commodore and Falcons in the late 2000s

Aye. Holden died a sad death. But it's worth remembering it was just a General Motors subsidiary like Vauxhall, which died in the late 1990's IMO.
