There's a big hole the other side where a Jag was.

It rusted away and had to be hoovered out.

What's the faded red thing on top of the Chrysler 180?

Looks like a c.1968 Rambler - possibly one of the French-assembled ones.

I think it looks good. Initially it seems a shame but really, it has preserved these cars way beyond how long they would have lasted otherwise!

Far more interesting would have been watching it being made; quite a job shuttering it up to start with. Then pouring, I imagine over a few days with intervals but not too long. In order to be structurally sound the cars would have to be carefully placed and the concrete mixed wet enough to creep fairly thoroughly into them.

I can't find anything now but I seem to remember that it is now in very poor condition. It was a few years ago I heard about it and the place was falling down. It seems every picture of it is from a while ago and no real recent ones. The estate it is on is private so it wasn't something you could go and visit if I remember correctly.

In the UK, the Escort would’ve been stolen by now.
