Re: Crash! Bang! Wallop!
Bypassing sidestand and/or clutch switches is a bad idea on a lot of modern bikes btw. They often trigger a change in ignition and/or fuel mapping for easier starting. Which tends to result in them running shite and using too much fuel.

Re: Crash! Bang! Wallop!
Depends on the stand. Side stand should be deployed or retracted whilst on the bike, a centre stand obviously requires you to be off the bike first. A new rider doing his CBT should be told to get on the bike from the left side.Eddie Honda wrote: ↑Mon May 03, 2021 9:57 pm MOTORCYCLE SAFETY. DRY-SHITE STYLE.
Now I learnt (a long time ago) to always retract or deploy a stand whilst next to motorcycle and not mounted. Do they not teach that any more?
I still consider it the safest way and nothing to do with the fact I've been a lazy bastard at various points of my motorcycling career and bypassed the sidestand or clutch switch on some machines temporarily*.
Her leg goes down quite early at the traffic lights too. I thought the game was to balance as long as possible feet up?

And NEVER use the kill switch to stop the engine.
The kill switch has only two uses.
1. To shut the engine down in an emergency.
2. To assist in performing backfires on your girly SV650 immediately after passing your test to make you feel like a real man. See also holding it in first on the paddle in your PCP funded, 8,000 mile a year contract Audi S3.

Rubbish, unless like 'Ariston' you liked refuelling 3 times a day. NTV600/650 was a better bet (apart from the odd shonky gearbox that would shit itself c. 50k)Warren t claim wrote: ↑Tue May 04, 2021 12:51 am The only ideal Vee twin tool for the job was the CX500.
(Ariston's shonky vee twin love extended to the unreliable Moto Gutless he owned as well.)
