That MG6 has a lovely Chinese engine which is impossible to get parts for.

I thought the MG6 was just a cost engineered K-series ?
There was a bit of tempation to buy a rear shunted MG6 to make a 1.8 street wise work better but I ran out of beer before clicking on buy it now.

Re: Claim's Cabbies Corner. MG6 day tomorrow!
Last night I picked up a couple of other driver's from the pub and the topic of conversation drifted towards nightmare passengers.
One lad asked me if I'd ever taken the wheelchair guy from a pub in Heswall to his flat in Neston.I hadn't and the driver told me this tale.
He gets despatched the job and picks the guy up and takes him home. When he gets there the fare clocks £8.40. The mong hands him £3.40 and says that when the driver wheels him in his missus will give him the other fiver, fair enough. Once wheeled in the driver is greeted to the sight of a woman with no neck, arms or legs propped up on the sofa! This woman is just a head on a torso!!! The punter asks Neston's answer to Boxing Helena for the other fiver and she then spits five Pound coins onto the table in front of her....

I think the petrol ones were re-engineered to solve the OMGHGF issue, but "Warren's" is a dizzler I think.FatherJack wrote: ↑Sun Jan 07, 2024 9:27 pm I thought the MG6 was just a cost engineered K-series ?

I read on some forum (might have been the 75/ZT one a thread about a bloke who put an MG6 engine in his Rover.

They were. I think Lotus did the work (as opposed to Cosworth who fixed the KV6 HGF issues).

Re: Claim's Cabbies Corner. MG6 day tomorrow!
So where do we go from here?
My E7 is due for inspection and tomorrow it'll be getting the spanner treatment before being presented on either Friday or Monday. If it dies on its arse requiring £2500 spending on it then I'll keep the MG. If it only needs minor work then the MG will go back next week. The thing is I'm loathed to hand the E7 back as I've paid a lot more than I owe on it. Obviously, I do totally understand that you lot want the E7 to get mauled as that means that I'll be hanging onto the MG6 for anything up to another 18 months therefore running it to 200,000 miles before roffling it to a lucky punter on AS.
In the interests of full disclosure though I really should tell you all that Claim_Garage_2 will be coming into possession of a 220,000 mile, ex PH 64 plate Passat estate that's potentially got another 10 months taxi life left so if the shit hits the fan then jumping into that may be an option.
