I've thought that before! They always looked like they rubbed the name off the badge....Do the Shadow/T wheels fit these?

Ahh finally you have reached the n+1 stage. I shall keenly await the outcome from the wings.

Less annoying tag line.

Had a bloke in today to weld the Fiat up and he has quoted a reasonable price to do the Bentley which will get welded next week. Also on the list of faults was a very leaky gearbox, as Christmas is pretty much cancelled I made a start getting the box out.

Do they have a separate chassis? Sills don't look very substantial.

Surprised they weren’t galvanised or dipped in champagne from new. That sill looks like mid 70’s Datsun grade steel.

They don't look bad at all, thought these had a reputation for rusting? Is an arch available?

It is still solid as it is just the outer sills with the rot. There was fair bit of filler as well. All the inner sills and box sections are good so cosmetic really rather than structural. The lad I am getting to weld it does do a pretty decent job so once it is wobbed over it will be fine. My aim is to get it running reliably with a full years mot so I can sell it for around the 5k mark and actually make some money. It will always be a cheap Bentley due to the high mileage so not worth doing a full blown resto on it. If I can get away with spending no more than a grand on it I will be happy. So far it is about 100 for the gearbox overhaul kit and a pair of tyres I had spare from the other Bentley. The welding will be about 400, brake pump kits are about 150 with the tool. As long as I can avoid fitting the correct Avon tyres brand new it should be doable.
It doesn't have a chassis as such but the outer sills are basically just for the outer shape it has a large box secion that runs front to rear inboard of the outers which is where the strength is. The outers look bad but when you look inside the sills they are still in good nick with very little rust.
Panels are available but expensive. I suspect it will be welded close to right then wobbed up.
