I've brought loss of compression one one cylinder back to a reasonable degree by using a combination of Forte products.

Good news is it's not been scrapped but I can't say what the future will hold for it.

Re: The Astraslag TDW Slut Car Thread
15psi down on one cylinder I don't think I'd be worried too much about.
Ours made very weird engine noises when accelerating hard from low revs when it got between 2k and 3k. Like a rumbling farting kind of noise. I used to do it all the time as it annoyed Mrs SiC when I did it to take the piss out of it. Tbh the engine was probably the worst sounding noise I have driven. Varied in groans depending how hard you pressed the pedal and completely uninspiring sounds.
Clutch is a pisser though. Cheaper than many modern cars to do I bet but still a couple hundred quid or so.

Re: The Astraslag TDW Slut Car Thread
All cylinders were lower than what they should be,circa 155 psi. 4 was around 120. I admit the engine was gruff but the 8v had a fair old amount of low down grunt. 4k at 75 though was tiring but still better than the Ignis. The work it needed was doable but with my friend off on holiday it would be a waiting game plus the other niggles it had.SiC wrote: ↑Mon Apr 10, 2023 6:07 pm 15psi down on one cylinder I don't think I'd be worried too much about.

Re: The Astraslag TDW Slut Car Thread
Right,it's replacement. Cheapest car I could find with a maximum of 60 mile round trip and a few months ticket. It's had clutch done, brakes all round, front springs, shocks and mounts, new rear brakes and handbrake cable in previous owners ownership. He had it over 3 years and put nearly 50k on it in that time for work. Only selling as work have now provided him with a newish insignia.

So it's clearly not a GPZ500 then.
