Great pics though - it looks to have been an excellent show.

Whilst the Bellybutton Midget and Riviera (especially) are very worthy I spot two others I'd have had a good trawl over - a Jupiter red Cortina IV and a very early Golf in Saturn yellow. Hopefully it hasn't been Dubbed to fuck and remains standard.

Little local show in Sanquhar last weekend. Not a bad turnout given the rain but a fair bit of modern wank I wouldn't have let in,including a brand new Ford of some sort. I got there late and wound up in the end of a dubdick row..

Yes it is. I even broke out the Autosol to make absolutely certain it would rain on the day.

Could that be more down to the fact the cars get stored for years and pre-70s in a garage/barn?
Owner dies and family have a clear out. Except they can't find the V5. Thus DVLA register under a new plate.

I don’t think so, it’s usually just greed and/or sentimentality. A lot of people want to keep grandads plate to put on their modern, if they have no interest in taking on a classic.
Whichever way, it’s still a shame when it happens.

Going to be a lot harder now they require an MOT.

I thought there was a loophole in the regs that allowed them to transfer registrations without an mot as long as the car was taxed.
The amount of old barn find type cars coming up on eBay with brand new “XS” plates would tend to suggest there is a way of doing it.
Failing that, bent mots aren’t hard to come by.
